Surah Qadr

Surah Qadr. According to the numbering Surah Qadr is the 97th surah of the Holy Quran with 5 verses that talk about the importance of the glorious night The first verse of its says “We sent down the Quran in the night of glory” which is also known as Laylatul Qadr or Shab e Qadar Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (ﷺ) said ‘find out the night of glory in the last Ashra of Ramadan’.

AlQadr (Arabic القدر “Power Fate”) is the 97th chapter of the Qur’an with 5 āyāt or verses It is a Meccan surah which celebrates the night when the first revelation of what would become the Qur’an was sent down The chapter has been so designated after the word alqadr in the first verse It is mainly about power.

Surah Qadr is also referred to as “power of fate” and it celebrates the night which the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed by Jibreel This surah also describes significance of Laylat alQadr which is the “night of decree” or “night of power” which happens during the last 10 nights of Ramadan typically an oddnumbered night.
